This is the first part of a short story I have been toying with for the last couple of years. It has several themes that I confess aren't original, but nevertheless I can't get enough of this kind of story. I guess I was specifically inspired by "Toys" by MagusJosh, "The Belt" by Laura Gibson, and "There's more than one way to skin a traitor" by Sara Castle.
